Hi Guys, This could be for anyone to answer, but Nigel may have the edge! I've just sold a propeller on EBay. The 'Buy it Now' purchaser lives in Poland, and didn't ask me about postage costs before bidding. The prop weighs just over 3 kg, and is a 2-bladed folding one, so the parcel will be no more than about 30 x 20 x 20 cm. Parcelforce site quoted a silly price of over £40, but I found one on line, Parcel2Go, which quoted £16. Have any of you used a courier for stuff to Europe, in this case to Poland? Ever heard of Parcel2Go? They look ok, but I'm wondering if there's a better way of sending it. Thanks Geoff

I've used Parcel2go many times, including sending outboards to Europe, wouldn't worry about using them again.

Thanks Ken.
I assume they collect from your home?

You can get them to pick up from anywhere Geoff, had one parcel picked up in Gateshead while I was away from home.

Parcel2Go are great, use them a lot. You can pay via Paypal they then give youy a parcel label (electronically) and the parcel is then collected. I priced a package via Parcel Force and it came out at £42 via parcel2Go (still using Parcelforce) was less than half!!

Thanks for the info, I looked at Parcelforce first, and had the shock of my life! As I said, they quoted 3 times the cost of P2G, and that's why I raised the question. I have a Paypal account, so I will use that too. Thanks again. Geoff

Well, I just lost myself £18!! Last night I filled in the details of this parcel for Poland, and got a quote for £16.09. The site is a bit misleading, as it states 'up to 10 Kg for £13.?? + vat. Today I find it's £34.20! Phoned P2G, who now tell me that the £16 is for Parcelforce, who do not go to Poland, and the £34 is for DHL wo do. Obviously last night I didn't go far enough with the quotation, before emailing the purchaser to advise of the postage. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!

Just did QUICK QUOTE on parcel2Go and agree cheapest is via DHL at about £28 (plus VAT?) Always try and use the QUICK QUOTE as a first step, gives you an idea and easy to use. BB

yessssssssssss,, wellllllllllllll, I did use the Quick Quote last night, and then after I had registered today, I found that the pages had changed somewhat. The QQ last night showed £16.09 to Poland, but today the page came up with various carriers, and DHL were the cheapest, but at £34.20. As I said, I should have continued with the quote to another window or two. Oh well, we live and learn - sometimes, haha.

Tell the buyer &see if he is prepared to pay the extra. Well, I have paid for the despatch, and sent a message to the recipient, telling him it's on the way, and that the quoted postage was wrong. I've 'suggested' he might like to consider reimbursing me the extra How many would do that do you think? Haha

You may be surprised, if he feels it is a bargain, Poles have a fair bit of pride & he do so.
No guarantees tho'.

Well, the propeller reached its new owner in Poland, and he gave me : PROPELLER IS PERFECKT-EXPRESS TRANSPORT !!! EBAYER TIP-TOP +++ But there's no sign of a reimbursement of the extra postage. Lesson learned, and next time I'll be more careful, LOL
