She looks beautiful, hope I'm not seeing a twist, those side benches/seats are wonderful. You mean, like this? Mine, all mine! Found in a hedge, actually. "Needs work"

She's the mortal remains of an Uffa Fox International Fourteen, K377, "Mercury". I picked her up from Shropshire on Sunday. She had been found in a hedge! She needs rather a lot of help.

Er, good question, there, Naiad! I'll make a start this winter. It's a daunting task; she has holes through both skins and needs re-ribbing entirely. I make that 168 3/8" x 1/4" CRE ribs, several feet of 3/16" Honduras mahogany plus a couple of larger bits to carve graving pieces for the hog from, several feet of 1/16" ditto for the inner skin and 7,000 3/4" No 16 copper boat nails. Not counting the moulds, centreboard, rudder, tiller and spars... But did you see what the Pioneer looked like when they dug her out of the mud at West Mersea!

Well, one of the things I'd like and need to learn is wooden boat maintenance / refurbishment at any level, so if you like, I'd be delighted to help!
That's an offer valid to any woodie in the Suffolk area. Of course, next winter I'll be busy with Naiad as well, but I'd love to help and learn!
I may have a few questions on Naiad as well for you all guys: she looks ok at the moment, but we'll see

Roach, Mukes, form an orderly queue!
Agenda item for the East Coast SBC branch laying up supper (yes, it exists, and generally manages to coincide with the beer festival at the Cherry Tree in Woodbridge!)

ohh, We loved our Heron (Called Little Rotter) - much better than my brother's Mirror as it at least looks like a proper boat.
