Boy am I fed up waiting for boating season to get going again ...
Boats cleaned, repairs near completed .... sitting there waiting for a crane to do the honours.
I start to sort dates for lift-in and what happens ? Winter drops in again giving a last show. With it thawing out - ground has become all soft again - so may have to truck boat through town to harbour instead of re-launch at bottom of garden as planned.
Well all will be sorted later this year when my private slipway and decking gets put in. Along with access road through the estate - then it's ignore weather ... lift in/out as wanted ...
Even have wife's permission to convert half the barn to boathouse ... means extending door height / width to accommodate the 3 boats ...

This Easter weekend really P'd me off. WHat a waste of two Bank holidays! Boy am I fed up waiting for boating season to get going again ... Yes
Me too - I dared to think spring was just around the corner - and then it snows.
Only just got the boat out of the water, plan to get it back at beginning of April - so now I have to disappear abroad for a fortnight, so thats out now.
I have to work to finance the boat but always seem to end up working when I should be sailing.
Feeling a bit down this morning.

Snow storm here today - been winter now for a fortnight - and need to do quite a bit work outside before putting her in the water. Instead been renovating the living room - well it had to be done anyway and now there is only one room to do any more so not completely waisted time. Spring - you can come now...... PLEASE !

The saving grace of this weekend was the awful weather... could go do social visiting things inland in the cold, rain, sleet and snow safe in the knowledge that I wouldn't be able to get much done on the boat ... and that even if by some chance I had it done and back in I wouldn't be getting out of the harbour... and even if I did it wouldn't be very nice out there Part b of the plan is however turning out to be less successful... now no time to get near the boat, very little time left to get her ready, poor weather to work in, kids on holiday and suddenly piles and piles of work to do. And I've pulled and scraped off all the failed paint in the tiller compartment and now can't find my tin of expensive bilge paint But it will all get sorted and the sun will come out at some point...

Sorry to be a smug git but as I've only been back 2 weeks after spending a month in South Africa (shorts all day everyday ) then I can't complain about not being ready to go back in. I did get the keel rust sorted and primed today as well as a few other jobs. By the end of next week maybe....... I was rather hoping the this cold stuff would have happened whilst I was away but I recall it was rubbish at the end of March last year and I only just got finished before launch on 3rd April. Clocks forward on Saturday

You take the little tables and zoom them up one month to a page on a copier, then pin on wall or keep within reach on desk and use as diary. Never make the mistake of a dentist appointment, lunchtime liason or school concert when the tide's in again Little book then goes in bag with chart for those I-was-so-keen-to-get-out-here-I've-no-idea-when-I-need-to-get-back-by moments.
