Don't want to pay swindlers prices ..
OK - garden chair cushions - the ones that fold and provide back and seat cushion. Remove the ties from them as they are not needed. Get self-adhesive velcro and sew on versions.
You sew the hook side to cushion in a number of places ie .. one at mid seat and one at mid back. You take other hairy pad sides self-adhesive and stick to cockpit corresponding to position you want. (You make sure hook is on cushion as this catches various clothes items ....)
You can find packs of these for less than a tenner in most Garden DIY shops ...

Some of materials used take a while to dry out so could be problems with wet bums unless wearing salopettes. Hmmm, opportunity for Musto to market padded trousers; remember when dinghy sailing long ago that serious chaps stuck beer towels to their trouser rears. My own shanks are long and still fairly bony - maybe the solution is plastic surgery to shift the padding at the front to the rear. I did have one of those swindlery cushions that I shifted about from locker top to coaming depending - went overboard off St Albans in August 2006 so if anybody finds one ? Dark blue it were.

Of course the real cheapos I agree. But careful selection will find those with water-protection ....
The ones I had in UK for my garden set literally could stay out in rain and only a wipe off and they were near ready to use !
