that you bought for the boat ..... ?
Now this has me thinking - as I don't buy much for my boat !!
Arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr just remembered !
I bought a pack of sail tell-tales. Great thought I ... but how to fix on the sail ! and even if you did - they are so small to be even questionable on a dinghy !
Must admit I was close to considering Winch Mates .. supposed to turn normal sheet winch in self-tailing ...

I would agrre that the Winchmates are useless. Only way is to get Self-Tailing winches.
Most useless thing I bought for SC was a toaster that fitted on teh hob, all it ever gave was burnt bread that tasted like carbon paper

Forgot about those !! For me - it's not only the locking mechanism they use - but also the fact that they use the guard lines .... I don't like hanging my fenders on the guard-lines - personal preference is something more substantial .... ie chainplates, cleats etc.

I am considering antifouling paint. It never seems to work very well.

I am considering antifouling paint. It never seems to work very well. This is first year for near 5 that I have actually used any ... but it's special for Fishing boats in Baltic brackish waters ! Will be interested to see what happens at end of year on lift out !

In our waters the most usual feature of antifouling paint is not to embarras the owner when the boat is lifted in. It is kind of the reason why I still do apply it...it make the boat look better hanging under the crane...

I bought it for those cold windy days towards the end of the season when the north east winds are at their worst. It was just one of those days on a final sail before laying up that I last saw it as it disappeared from view beneath the white topped waves. It looked a bit like this one. The tea cosy which my wife knitted for my welding hat is much warmer, stays in place but doesn't really measure up to the image of a member of the Royal Northumberland Yacht Cub except for fellow members who dress in much the same way. The club uniform is usually a boiler suit.

I'm such a tight git that I never buy anything until it's needed. Still bought some useless crap though, a Talbot Solara being about the worst! ;D Had a Talbot Horizon ... absolute heap of ***** - gave it to a builder for his daughter to learn to drive in in exchange for a new bathroom !! (took out dividing wall etc.) Only thing I could say for it ... excellent visibility all round - similar to Morris 1100 and good learner driver machine. Blimey 0 thinkiing on that Talbot reminds of its replacement !! (Was wifes car ...) We bought an old Mk1 Escort 1.3. Used it for a while and then got shot of it before MOT due. About 6 months later Police at the door ... Excuse me sir - is the wife in ? Can we speak to her please. Madam we oul;d like you to come to the station for a few questions please ... Hold it Officer - my wife is going nowhere until we know what about. Your wifes car was involved in a shooting incident at Southsea last night. My wife has no car officer. Red Mk1 escort ? reg # ........... Sorry Officer we sold that car to Mr & Mrs XXXXXXXXXX of XX blah blah ... would you like to see the Receipt ? Oh thank you sir - we'll get back if anything further. That night on TV - there it was !! Red escort ... etc. They never re-registered the car etc. - so her name came up ... they got'em based on my silly Bill of sale !
