Reading this month's PBO about VAT and it's got me considering my boat. If I decide to make for foreign shores (quite likely) am I going to be in trouble without a file of original documents?
I've got a folder full of, mainly useless, documents. No bill of sale or anything to do with VAT. The boat is 25 years old.
What do I need?

SSR & cert of insurance are the main 2 you will be asked for. ICC if you plan to go inland. With the age of your boat Vat should not be a problem.
