Why? Is there anything still in there? It's not that bad a job. Especially when compared to an overflowing septic tank, like what I had in France, now that is a sh***y job ;D

Had an electric toilet in Dad's Colvic Watson, rules state he who breaks the toilet cleans it. Sailing into Palermo (Scicily) in 35 degrees C. Have a dump, motor breaks after mincing all my sh1t into pieces.... Spent the next hour on my knees cleaning out with hand and a small cup. Worse job I have ever had to do.... And I was skipper!

Mate of mine had a nice clean Leisure 22 ... he had a "thing" with a single lass in the club ... One summer they are out sailing in Solent ... and she does the biz .... starts to pump ... shortly after she appears looking a bit worse for wear ... Mmmmm Jim (yes another Jim!) .... can you help ? He looks and decides to anchor up in a nearby bay ..... She forgot to open outlet ... pumped up pressure ... pump didn't want to do anymore - so she gave it a bit more effort ... pipe blew off valve ... splattered all around and emptied into locker ... then flowed out into cabin ... She was then shore-based ... as no-one wanted a repeat ...

My dad had a few choice tales of WW II submarines and heads of the "going in clean shaven and coming out with a beard" type!
My own tale of woe was in the Caribbean; heads had been used (fully) pump employed then all jammed. Had to strip it all out; found a pair of tweezers in the pump that someone had dropped in the bog! Didn't feel clean until I'd scrubbed myself with bleach, swum and then showered!

While I was a fitter at the pit, part of the maintenance duties was to unblock the Victorian sewers whenever they decided to block, which was fairly regularly.
Full length waders up to chest height and a long pole!
We did have good showers there...........

They say that Paris sewers and water system were so bad and close to each other that one contaminated other ... so it was accepted thing to bring in water from outside city ... Has a "ring" of truth about it !! ;D
